Duplicating a campaign

Reuse an existing campaign on a new period, with touchpoints, markets and budget already in place.

When a campaign repeats (a seasonal promo, a recurring launch, the same plan on another period) there is no need to fill it in again. Duplicating creates a new campaign that starts from the structure of an existing one, and only asks you for the new period.

Where to duplicate from

  • From the campaign detail: open the campaign and use the duplicate icon in the header, next to edit.
  • From the calendar: hover the campaign bar and use the duplicate icon at the top right of the card.
  • By dragging: hold Alt and drag the campaign bar onto the new period. Instead of moving it, this creates a copy there. It also works on campaigns that already ended, which is the most useful case: bringing last year's promo forward.

What gets copied

  • The selected touchpoints, including any custom dates they have
  • The markets linked to the campaign
  • Budget, colour, promotion type and description
  • Retail Media settings, when the campaign has them

What does not get copied

  • The dates: you choose them, and that is the whole reason duplication exists. The name gets a *(copy)* suffix, which you can change.
  • Kanban tasks: the copy starts with the default tasks, like a brand new campaign, so you do not drag along tasks that are already closed.
  • Generated UTM links: they are recalculated from the new campaign name.

How touchpoint dates move

When you pick the new period, touchpoints without custom dates follow the campaign automatically. Those with custom dates move by the same number of days as the campaign, so the offsets inside your plan stay intact: a touchpoint that started three days in will still start three days in. If the new period is shorter than the original, dates that would fall outside are pulled back within the new boundaries.

Duplicating with Slotty

You can also ask Slotty to duplicate a campaign by naming it and giving the new period. The result is identical: same copy of touchpoints and markets, same date shift.
