Task management

How to create, assign, and track tasks across your campaigns in HubSlot.

The Tasks section in HubSlot is a Kanban board for managing work items across your workspace. Tasks can be created manually or auto-generated in step 3 of the campaign creation wizard. Each workspace has one Kanban with one or more boards.

Task fields

  • Title: required. The name of the work item.
  • Description: optional free-text notes.
  • Priority: Low, Medium, High, or Urgent.
  • Due date: optional. If the task is linked to a campaign, a warning appears if the due date falls outside the campaign date range.
  • Tags: comma-separated labels for grouping and filtering.
  • Assignee: any member of the workspace.
  • Campaign: optional link to a campaign. Linked tasks are also visible in the campaign detail.
  • Subtasks: a checklist within the task. Each subtask has a title and can be toggled complete independently.

Create a task

  • Go to Tasks in the sidebar.
  • Click Add Task inside any column, or use the quick-add field at the bottom of a column.
  • Fill in the title (required) and any optional fields, then click Create.

Boards

A workspace Kanban can have multiple boards. The default board is called "General". Additional boards can be created and optionally linked to a specific campaign. Use the board selector in the header to switch between boards.

Tasks from campaigns

When creating a campaign, step 3 of the wizard lets you add task templates that are automatically created as items on the Kanban board. These tasks are linked to the campaign and filtered accordingly.
