Channels and Groups
How to create and manage the Groups and Channels that organize your touchpoints.
Groups and Channels are the organizational structure that sits above touchpoints. Go to Channels and Groups in the sidebar to manage them. The hierarchy is: Group > Channel > Touchpoint.
Groups
- A Group is the top-level container, e.g. "Website", "Email", "Social Media".
- Each group has a name and a color used for visual identification in the timeline and filters.
- Groups can be drag-and-drop reordered.
- A group cannot be deleted until all its channels are removed first.
Channels
- A Channel belongs to one Group and represents a specific communication context, e.g. "Homepage", "Weekly Newsletter", "Instagram".
- Each channel has a source category: On-site (banners, popups, website), Owned (email, SMS, organic social), or Paid (Google Ads, Meta Ads, paid placements). Click the category badge to cycle through the three options.
- The UTM source field on a channel is auto-generated from the group name and is used when building UTM links in campaigns. You can override it manually.
- Channels within a group can be drag-and-drop reordered.
Create a group
- Open Channels and Groups from the sidebar.
- Click Add Group, enter a name, and pick a color.
- The group appears at the bottom of the list and can be dragged to the desired position.
Create a channel
- Expand a group and click Add Channel.
- Enter the channel name, select its source category, and optionally edit the UTM source slug.
- The channel is added inside the selected group.
